Jay: We met during our second year of high school. It was the first day of classes, and out of the blue, I received a text message from an unknown number. What was really weird was that this person just straight-up asked me if there was someone I liked. Little did I know, this mysterious person was Hazel.
Hazel: *cringes*
Jay: Despite the unusual start, we became friends and grew closer over time, but it wasn't until our third year in high school when I decided to surprise her and ask her out (creatively!) by sending a note folded into a paper plane.
Hazel: In the months and, eventually, years after that, we were practically inseparable - always together.
One of my fondest memories is of us going on road trips and just spending the time chatting about anything and everything. He's that one person I can confide in without fear of judgment, and it's really nice that we share a lot of the same interests.
Jay: Speaking of road trips and unforgettable experiences, one of my most cherished memories is our trip to Tagaytay. It was then that made me realize you were the one I wanted to marry.
Hazel: In March 2022, our tenth anniversary found us in Bolinao. It was there, in the comfort of our beachfront room, that Jay chose the perfect moment to propose. I was surprised when he took out the scrapbook that I gifted to him on our first anniversary.
Jay: When she gave the scrapbook all those years ago, it was only half-filled. This time, though, the one I gave back to her was filled with photos and memories from our 10 years together.
Hazel: (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) So sweet! As I finished looking through his gift, he popped the question with a ring whose design was a sort of callback to the very first ring he gave me when we were younger.
Jay & Hazel: So that's where we are now. We're so excited to spend the next phase of our lives together and can't wait to celebrate with you here in Baguio on December 21!
